Questions about Sunwood
How much does one piece of Sunwood cover?
Each piece of Sunwood covers 2.67 sq ft. The calculator above turns your square footage into whole pieces and adds 15% for cuts.
Can I use Sunwood on a floor?
The maker's floor rating for Sunwood is not on file yet, so we do not promise it. Ask us before putting it on a floor; we will check the spec sheet for you.
How is Sunwood installed outside?
At 30 mm thick it is a true paver: it can be dry-laid on compacted gravel or sand, set on pedestals for a deck or roof terrace, or mortared over a concrete slab.
Does Sunwood need sealing?
Yes. Sunwood is natural quartzite: seal it with a penetrating sealer at installation and again when water stops beading on the surface.
Will Sunwood look exactly like the photo?
Close, but not identical: natural quartzite varies in veining and tone from piece to piece. Order a sample first, buy everything you need at once so it comes from one batch, and blend pieces from several boxes as you install.
What is the minimum order for Sunwood, and how does it ship?
The minimum is 7 pieces (18.7 sq ft). Each piece weighs about 44 lb, so 4 or more pieces ship by freight on a pallet (curbside, with a liftgate, by appointment); smaller orders ship by parcel. Shipping is priced at checkout from the weight and your ZIP code.
Can I get a sample of Sunwood first?
Yes. Choose Sample above: one tile for $4.99 plus shipping. When you order the tile (orders over $300), we credit the $4.99 back.
